We upped anchor early Wednesday morning and made our way back to Gorge Harbour to spend a few days with our friends, Bill and Sylvia, getting up to all of the usual things – socializing, using the internet, hiding out from a rain shower or two and (in attempt to keep my promise) more laundry – but today David and I stepped outside our usual patterns and did things we normally wouldn't do: We sat by the pool and sunned ourselves all afternoon and went to shore for an evening concert at the resort. It was fantastic...as if we were on vacation without a care in the world. I'm sure most people think that's what it's like everyday, but it's not (at least not for us). There's a lot of stress, worry and work that goes into cruising and you have to constantly be on your game, so lounging by the pool and forgetting all about the boat for a few hours was a real treat, as well as a rarity.
