Desolation Sound
Roscoe Bay, West Redonda Island
Thursday, September 15, 2011TheCambrians
It was raining again in the morning so we waited until 4 o'clock, once the tide was high enough to safely clear the shoal which protects the entrance to Roscoe Bay, to up anchor -- both Cambria and Salubrious. But this time we parted ways as we moved south to spend the night in the Copeland Islands and they went to Refuge Cove on the opposite side of West Redonda Island to re-provision -- a sight David and I both were sorry to see. We arrived a couple of hours later to an empty anchorage, always a welcomed scene, but it was strange to be there without Salubrious by our side.
Although tucked safely away, the wind from the northwest picked up during the night and David was up, off and on, until three in the morning checking on things while I slept like a baby -- not a particularly good start to what promises to be a long and tiring weekend.
