Bird houses hanging from a tree in Isabel Bay.

It's hard to believe that it's already the first of September and we're left wondering where the time went.   It's been nearly four months since we left our marina berth in Poulsbo … how is that possible?

It's been a quiet couple of days for us.  Still in Isabel Bay, David woke up with a “rotten head” yesterday (it's been a BRUTAL allergy season) and spent most of the day in bed (along with a somewhat restless night), so I took the kayak out for a couple of hours, found myself a quiet corner out of the breeze, kicked back and soaked up the last of the summer sun.

He woke up feeling better this morning and I was able to persuade him to take a look at the intake pump for the water maker which broke down a couple of weeks ago.  We're running low on water so, with an overcast morning and a few showers, it seemed like the perfect time.  It was along afternoon but a successful one as he cursed like a sailor while trying to rebuild the pump and I happily sat in the corner working on a new knitting project.  I almost felt bad … almost!
