The rain began last night and continued throughout the day as we watched the barometer fall from a high of 1021 MB earlier in the week to 1009 MB as the first of a series of major weather systems approached the area. It's difficult not to feel a little nervous. Grace Harbour looks good on paper, but you never know until the wind blows what the protection is like. But right now, all's well and we're seeing very little wind in the anchorage even though, accordingto Bill and Sylvia, it's blowing about 20 knots in Desolation Sound.
Salubrious came down from Squirrel Cove this afternoon and came over for a cup of tea and to catch up on all the happenings of the past five days. While we were piling on extra layers of clothes in Pender Harbour, they were in Pendrell Sound enjoying the last days of summer lazing about in swimsuits and cooling off in the water – what a difference fifty miles can make!
