We left Jeff and Karry's dock around 11 o'clock Friday morning for Port Townsend. The weather had cleared and it was shaping up to be a nice day, so we were looking forward to the passage and finally starting the work which, for one reason after another over the past seven months, kept being pushed back. But, once again, it wasn't meant to be. As we entered the channel, Doug from Port Townsend called to let us know the tire hadn't arrived and wouldn't be in until Monday. Rather than turn around only to tie up again, we carried on to Port Ludlow for a quiet weekend at anchor.
Hip hip hooray! Saturday was opening day in Port Ludlow complete with blue blazers, white pants, bag pipers, cannon fire and a boat parade – a good excuse to get the hell out of there. Having picked up our truck from Poulsbo on Friday, we drove into Port Townsend for the farmer's market. While we were there, we had a look at the boatyard and Travelift (which appears no larger than what normally hauls us out and is a problem) AND took a hot shower. By the time we got back to the boat, the real showers were beginning and didn't stop for twenty-four hours. The barometer's on it's way back up this morning, but not before seeing a low of 998 MB (from a high of 1022). If the weather patterns are consistent, we'll have a few days of nice weather starting tomorrow – just in time for our haul-out!
We left Port Ludlow this morning for Port Townsend and anchored outside Boat Haven Marina. With busy days ahead of us, we took the bus down to Port Ludlow to pick up the truck this afternoon. On the drive back, Doug called to let us know that the tire had finally arrived and was being mounted. We're scheduled to haul-out tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock – I think I'll believe it when I see it!
