Adding a Low-Voltage Battery Alarm Without Breaking the Budget

A 12 volt battery alarm from QKits.com.

Looking for an inexpensive way to add a low-voltage alarm to your battery banks?  Or a battery monitor?

Add “marine” to these products and you could easily spend hundreds of dollars at your local chandler, but they can be found through hobby shops for a fraction of the cost . . . and a little soldering.

Sure.  They may not look as “flash” as what you might find sitting on the shelf at West Marine.  But for a mere $5.95 and 15 minutes of work, a friend of ours just added an adjustable low battery alarm to his house bank from Quality Kits.  And for around $12 (or less), you can do the same with a battery monitor.
