I love college basketball. Not in an
all-encompassing way. Just the Wichita State University Cambria . And the crazy madness of getting her ready for an early
April departure.
For the last few weeks, we’ve had some incredible
weather here in the Pacific
Northwest and we’ve been
taking full advantage of it by getting some work done outside. The days have been busy but we’re making
progress and, if the fine weather continues, we might actually make our
intended departure date . . . for the first time . . . ever.
Here’s what we’ve been up to:
- Polishing the diesel fuel and tanks
- Servicing the winches

- Provisioning
- Polishing the cabin top
- Cleaning the teak decks
- Staining the teak decks
- Cleaning the cockpit canvas

- Making repairs to the cockpit canvas
- Polishing the clears (Isinglass)
- Purchasing charts for
- Taking a shake-down cruise to check the systems (and we hope to squeeze one more in before the end of the month)

- Replacing the gypsy and bottom plate to our
Lewmar windlass (more on that saga later)
- Servicing the 5 Hp outboard motor
It’s not everything we’d hoped to accomplish, but
it is a good start and we’re happy with the progress. Now, bring on the basketball!
