Now We've Gone and Done It: SV Cambria Has a New Home

One of the last things you should do after starting
a blog is change servers midstream, especially after five years. But it’s time for us to leave Webs and you
can chalk it up to frozen websites, downed servers and (most of all) limited
plug-ins and widgets that add all the bells and whistles that are commonly
found in blogs today.
After researching our options, we decided to go
with Blogger which is easy to use (for both the reader and the
writer) and, best of all, is free. To
make the transition smoother, we splashed out $10 and bought our own domain
name. Now you can find us at www.svcambria.com. No “webs” or “blogger”. Just plain, old “dot com”. It’s as simple as that.
Just about everything from Webs has been
transferred over to the new site, so you can find it all here. But the focus of the blog isn’t going to be
exactly the same. Along with our usual
posts on destinations, we’re adding some regular “features” as well:
- Top Ten Lists:
The name says it
all. After spending nearly 13 years
on a boat, we’ve learned a thing or two (mostly the hard way) and a couple
of time a month, we’ll put together a list of favourites to share on
everything from anchorages to zincs.
- Throwback Thursday: Here’s
where we’ll share an “old school” idea, a story, information, and photos
on anything and everything from the past thirteen years (when we started
this crazy adventure).
- Cruising With Dogs: Come
to find out, a lot of people are really interested in Sally and what it’s
like to go cruising with a dog. So
on a couple of days each month, Sally will jump into the limelight and
we’ll share some of our experiences and the things we’ve learned along the
way.
- Sum It Up Sunday: Posted
semi-regularly on, you guessed it, Sundays, here’s where you’ll read more
about what’s been happening behind the scenes aboard
And the changes don’t stop there. We’ll also be posting more product reviews (everybody loves a guinea pig, don’t they?) and information about the systems
aboard Cambria and
what it takes (David) to maintain them all.
